Afacerea Gucci este supravegheată de cei doi fii ai lui Guccio Gucci, vicleanul Aldo (Al Pacino) și fratele său mai conservator și detașat Rodolfo (Jeremy Irons).

Maurizio lansează un plan ambițios de a revigora numele și reputația brandului Gucci prin angajarea unui designer american, Tom Ford (Reeve Carney). Dar se trezește asediat din două părți: de Patrizia și de investitorii companiei, care, încurajați de consilierul său, De Sole, vor să preia controlul asupra companiei.

De la familiile regale și politică, până la media, scandalurile din cadrul dinastiilor bogate și puternice au exercitat întotdeauna o fascinație asupra publicului.
