Rogue One e prima poveste de sine stătătoare, care se desfăşoară în cadrul universului Star Wars. E regizat de Gareth Edwards după un scenariu scris de Chris Weitz și Tony Gilroy. Rogue One începe cu 34 de ani înainte de Star Wars VII: Trezirea Forței și cu aproximativ două decenii după ce tiranicul împărat Palpatine preia puterea în Star Wars III: Răzbunarea Sith. Din punctul meu de vedere Rogue One e cel mai bun film din serie, chiar dacă e un spin off. Are acțiune de la început până la final, față de celelalte filme ale seriei care au acțiune doar la început și la final. Dar… Bineînțeles că există un dar. Se vede că a fost produs de Disney. De ce? Sunt foarte multe poante, multă comedie, specific celor de la Disney. E cel mai „neserios” film din serie. 😉 Am vizionat acest film în avanpremieră, azi de la ora 19:00 la cinema Dacia Reșița.
Povestea o cunoaştem cu toţii… Mă refer la cei care au văzut începutul la Star Wars episodul IV: O nouă speranță. Deşi ştim de la început că rebelii au reuşit să fure planurile Stelei Morţii, veți fi captați de acțiune chiar dacă știți „destinația”. Filmul începe cu directorul Orson Krennic venind să-l caute pe Galen Erso, un inginer care e nevoit să construiască Steaua Morții. Fata sa e salvată de Saw Gerrera. La 15 ani după aceste evenimente, un pilot dezertează pentru a duce un mesaj de Galen. Steaua Morții are un „călcâi al lui Ahile”. Pentru asta, o trupă de combatanți rebeli aflați în derivă conduși de Jyn Erso, o mercenară a Rebeliunii, se unesc pentru a îndeplini o misiune disperată: să fure planurile pentru Steaua Morții înainte ca acestea să fie puse în aplicare în slujba întăririi puterii Împăratului. Steaua Morții este amenințarea prin care Împăratul Palpatine ține sub „călcâi” sistemele solare care încep să se ridice împotriva lui.
Mads Mikkelsen e Galen Erso, tatăl lui Jyn şi inginerul responsabil pentru crearea Stelei Morții;

Forest Whitaker e Saw Gerrera, un fel de veteran ponosit care conduce o bandă de extremiști rebeli. E la marginea Alianței Rebelilor. E un insurgent violent, un luptător pentru libertate care face multe fapte rele pentru cele mai nobile motive;
Jiang Wen e Baze Malbus, e un sceptic ce nu crede în Forță sau în filozofia ei. Dar Baze e total dedicat protejării bunului său prieten, Chirrut. Puternic blindat și înarmat, Baze preferă la orice oră din zi sau din noapte explozia produsă de un blaster în locul fineței unei lovituri de armă anacronică;
Riz Ahmed e Bodhi Rook, un pilot care lucrează pentru Imperiu ca să-și câștige existența și care dezertează la cererea lui Galen Erso pentru a duce un mesaj rebeliunii. E pilotul temperamental și ușor tensionat al grupului. Uneori se lasă dus de val, dar cu toții se pot baza pe talentele lui extraordinare în manevrarea navelor spațiale;

Alianța rebelilor e aproape destrămată. Luptătorii ei sunt panicați. Luptătorii pentru libertate plecați în misiune au o singură alternativă: să reușească sau să moară și pentru mulți dintre ei se va dovedi că varianta a doua e mult mai probabilă. Acțiunea are loc în același univers, în aceleași locuri, în același timp, pe scurt: „într-o galaxie foarte îndepărtată…”. Principala diferență dintre celelalte filme din universul Star Wars și Rogue One este aceea că acest spin-off nu se concentrează pe membrii familiei Skywalker. Dar nu vă speriaţi. Darth Vader nu lipseşte, dar acesta nu are un rol major. În acest moment al cronologiei, Darth Vader e privit mai degrabă ca un mit și nu ca o persoană în carne și oase, el fiind foarte vag familiar chiar și rebelilor. Unul din scopurile lui Rogue One este acela de a se îndepărta de cavalerii Jedi și Sith și de a se concentra pe eroismul celor care nu își trag puterea din Forță. Cavalerii Jedi sunt ca și dispăruți. Într-un univers în care săbiile au lame din laser, maimuțele păroase conduc nave spațiale, roboții sunt cicălitori și o invizibilă forță telechinetică e reală, disponibilă și perfect normală, există totuși o gaură. Nu e o gaură neagră, ci e o gaură de evacuare a primei Stele a Morții, singurul punct vulnerabil al unei stații de luptă de mărimea unei planete, ce a permis distrugerea acesteia dintr-o singură lovitură. Dar cum s-a ajuns acolo? Cum a fost posibil ca arhitecții distrugerii aflați în slujba Imperiului să încorporeze un astfel de defect mortal în designul Stelei Morții? Și cum au aflat rebelii de el? Ei bine, toate aceste răspunsuri le veți afla doar urmărind Rogue One la cinema.
