Filmul „Undeva la Palilula”, al regizorului Silviu Purcărete, va avea parte de o lansare specială în sălile din Franța, la 10 ani de la premiera din competiția Festivalului de la Karlovy Vary și de la lansarea pe marile ecrane din România. Două proiecții în avanpremieră sunt programate pe 11 și 16 septembrie, în prezența regizorului, la celebrul Forum des images, în inima Parisului, în cadrul L’Etrange Festival.
Un coup de coeur pentru selecționerii L’Etrange Festival (8-19 septembrie 2021), care l-au descoperit recent, filmul a fost inclus în secțiunea dedicată regizorilor aflați la primele filme, Nouveaux Talents. Distribuit de ED Distribution, „Undeva la Palilula” va fi proiectat pe marile ecrane din Franța la finalul anului 2021.
„Unic lungmetraj al acestui imens regizor de teatru, Silviu Purcărete, Palilula este un fel de Imperiul viselor, al lui Alfred Kübin, versiunea românească, pentru că și aici, ca și acolo, călătorul care intră în cetate pătrunde într-o altă dimensiune. Fabulă politică și fantasmagorie feliniană, Palilula îl angrenează pe spectator într-un carnaval populat de nebuni, prostituate și bețivi inocenți. Îndrăgostiților de explorări pe ritmuri kusturiciene, filmul acesta e făcut pentru voi. Orașul fantomă merge mai departe… Pură minunăție”, scriu selecționerii festivalului.
În distribuția filmului lansat în România în 2011 se află nume mari scenei românești, precum Áron Dimény, George Mihăiţă, Constantin Chiriac, Răzvan Vasilescu, Horațiu Mălăele, Sorin Leoveanu, Ofelia Popii.
România, anii ‘60. Serafim, un tânăr doctor, primeşte repartiţie pe termen scurt la spitalul din Palilula, un orăşel pierdut undeva pe harta ţării. Palilula, un autentic “Macondo” oltenesc, e un loc unde derizoriul coexistă cu lucruri fermecătoare; în spital, bolnavii sunt perfect sănătoşi, iar una dintre distracţiile lor preferate este să asiste la disecţiile de la morgă. Restul populaţiei e imbecilă şi fermecătoare, izolată pentru eternitate în beţie, petreceri şi orgii. Schimbările de regimuri politice, morţile, incendiile şi inundaţiile, nici una dintre aceste modificari majore, zguduitoare, ale lumii exterioare nu îi perturbă pe locuitorii Palilulei.
