După ce în 2007 s-a deschis cu mare fast primul cinematograf Cinema City (7 săli: 2 mari, 3 mijlocii și 2 mici), iată că pe 15 aprilie s-a deschis al doilea cinematograf în cadrul mall-ului Shopping City Timişoara. Cu o investiție de 8 milioane de euro e al doilea multiplex din țară după București care are tehnolgiile IMAX și 4Dx. Cu deschiderea acestui multiplex (13 săli de cinema) din Timişoara, Cinema City continuă să le aducă timişorenilor cea mai buna experienţă cinematografică, mai multe filme şi cele mai noi tehnologii. Cu o capacitate totală de 2.531 de locuri şi o suprafaţă de 4.300 mp, noul cinematograf Cinema City este cel mai mare multiplex din afara capitalei.
Bineînțeles cinefilii vor putea să meargă în continuare și la Iullius Mall la film, dar tehnologia IMAX și 4Dx le pot găsi doar în noul mall situtat pe Calea Șagului. În primul rând ce e IMAX-ul?
Ecranul e imens… E jumătate de teren de fotbal. Are o lăţime de 23 de metri şi o înălţime de 14 metri. Această tehnologie, IMAX 3D e cunoscută ca fiind cea mai bună din lume. Camera de proiectare încorporează 2 camere într-o singură carcasă. Am citit multe despre această tehnologie. Mă aşteptam să fac parte din film şi personajele să fie pe lângă mine. Dar nu e aşa. Se vede mult mai bine ca un 3D obişnuit şi ai senzaţia că ești într-o altă dimensiune. Să nu vorbesc de 3D, care se vede mai bine ca acasă. Sala are 409 locuri.
4Dx e ce mai recentă tehnologie cinematografică. Stimulează toate cele 5 simțuri, prin efecte personalizate create special pentru a oferi publicului cea mai bună experiență în timpul vizionării unui film. Veți avea, de asemenea, posibilitatea de a experimenta efecte speciale, cum ar fi vânt, ceață, fulgere și mirosuri care sporesc ceea ce vedeți pe ecran, cu peste 24 de variante de efecte speciale în format 3D. Fiecare scaun 4DX este pus în mișcare pe 3 axe: rulare, blocare și înclinare. O varietate de efecte integrate – scaune, jeturi de aer, explozii de apă, gâdilatul picioarelor și a spatelui, permit publicului să devină parte a poveștii de pe ecran .

i) weekend: înainte de ora 17 costă: 19,50 lei (copii), 23 lei (elevi, pensionari, studenți), 25 lei (normal), iar după ora 17 costă: 19,50 lei (copii), 25 lei (elevi, pensionari, studenți), 27 lei (normal).
ii) timpul săptămânii: înainte de ora 17 costă: 19,50 lei (copii), 21 lei (elevi, pensionari, studenți), 23 (normal), iar după ora 17 costă: 19,50 lei (copii), 23 lei (elevi, pensionari, studenți), 25 (normal).
b) 2D în:
i) weekend: înainte de ora 17 costă: 16,50 lei (copii), 18 lei (elevi, studenți), 17 lei (pensionari), 21 lei (normal), iar după ora 17 costă: 16,50 lei (copii), 20 lei (elevi, studenți), 19 lei (pensionari), 23 lei (normal).
ii) timpul săptămânii: înainte de ora 17 costă: 16,50 lei (copii), 17 lei (elevi, studenți), 15 lei (pensionari), 19 lei (normal), iar după ora 17 costă: 16,50 lei (copii), 18 lei (elevi, studenți), 17 lei (pensionari), 21 lei (normal).
Pentru filmele care rulează pe IMAX 3D aveţi nevoie de o pereche de ochelari 3D IMAX care costă 4 lei şi îi puteţi lua acasă. Cu ceilalţi ochelari nu o să vedeţi clar. E ca şi cum v-aţi uita fără ochelari.
