Au trecut 30 de ani de la evenimentele din primul film și un nou vânător de recompense, un ofițer LAPD pe nume K, dezgroapă un secret care are potențialul de a arunca societatea în haos. Această descoperire îl duce pe K pe urmele lui Rick Deckard, un fost vânător de recompense LAPD care e dispărut de 30 de ani.
Filmul e regizat de Denis Villeneuve, iar din distribuție fac parte: Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright. Producătorii au declarat că e unul dintre cele mai scumpe filme independente nerecomandate minorilor. Primul film din serie, lansat în urmă cu 35 de ani, nu avut un succes foarte mare, dar în timp a devenit un hit al genului SF.
Villeneuve nu e un adpet al efectelor CGI, de acea filmul a avut un buget de producţie mai mult decât generos şi a fost extrem de pretenţions la decoruri şi imagine. Dacă acest film va avea succes, această serie ar putea continua…
