Filmul „Proștii/ Fools”, producție cu participare românească, va fi lansat în cinematografele din România la sfârșitul acestei săptămâni, fiind distribuit de microMULTILATERAL.
“Proștii” va rula în avanpremieră la București la Cinema Elvire Popesco în această seară de la ora 20:30.
Din 3 martie, lungmetrajul semnat de Tomasz Wasilewski va putea fi văzut la: București (Happy Cinema, Cinema Union, Cinema Muzeul Țăranului, POINT), Bistrița (Centrul Cultural Dacia), Botoșani (Happy Cinema), Cluj-Napoca (Cinema Victoria, Cinema Arta), Constanța (Centrul Multifuncțional Educativ pentru Tineret “Jean Constantin”), Iași (Cinema Ateneu), Odobești (Casa de Cultură), Pitești (Cinema Trivale), Sfântu Gheorghe (Cinema Arta), Sibiu (Cine Gold), Vatra Dornei (Casa de Cultură “Platon Pardău”), Timișoara (Cinema Victoria).
“Proștii” este programat la Miercurea Ciuc (Cinema Csiki Mozi) sâmbătă 11 martie,de la ora 17:00 și la Sibiu (în cadrul ESTE Filmul de Miercuri, la Centrul Cultural “IonBesoiu”) miercuri, 15 martie, ora 20:00.
Lungmetrajul, scris și regizat de Tomasz Wasilewski, relatează relația dificilă dintre o mamă și fiul ei și cum alegerile pe care le fac au consecințe dramatice.
Marlena, în vârstă de 62 de ani, și Tomasz, cu 20 de ani mai tânăr, ascunși de lume într-un orășel de la malul mării, au o relație fericită de mulți ani. Viața lor de zi cu zi atent țesută începe să se destrame treptat când, împotriva voinței lui Tomasz, Marlena își aduce fiul să locuiască împreună cu familia. Când trecutul îi prinde din urmă cu toată forța, vor fi nevoiți să-și redefinească iubirea, alegerile și viața.
„Proștii” (Polonia, România, Germania) a avut premiera mondială la Festivalul Internațional de Film de la Karlovy Vary 2022, în secțiunea Proxima.
Distribuția este alcătuită din Dorota Kolak, Łukasz Simlat, Tomasz Tyndyk, Katarzyna Herman și Marta Nieradkiewicz.
Despre cel de-al patrulea lungmetraj al său, cineastul spune: „Mă interesa o relație la limită. Prezint ceva ce se termină, ceva ce privitorul nu înțelege pe deplin. Ceva îi scapă. Am vrut să descriu această izolare stranie. Odată a existat între ei o mare iubire, dar în același timp au fost condamnați să nu se aibă decât unul pe celălalt. Atunci iubirea devine închisoare. Poate a fost și faptul că mă găseam într-un moment special din viață pe atunci. Când am împlinit 40 de ani, am început să pun la îndoială multe lucruri. Treceam prin tot felul de schimbări, dar, în același timp, deveneam mai conștient de unele lucruri”.
Filmul este produs de Ewa Puszczyńska, cunoscută pentru „Ida”, premiat cu Oscar în 2015, iar co-producători sunt Ada Solomon și Jamila Wanske. Director de imagine este Oleg Mutu (“4 luni, 3 săptămâni și 2 zile”, “Moartea domnului Lăzărescu”, “Donbass”), editor – Beata Walentowska, de design vizual s-au ocupat Katarzyna Sobańska și Marcel Sławiński, iar de designul de sunet – Maciej Pawłowski și Ilja Koster.
„Proștii” este o producție Extreme Emotions, în colaborare cu microFILM și Achtung Panda!. Co-producători sunt TVN, EC1 ŁÓDŹ – City of Culture, The Mazovia and Warsaw Film Fund, Opus Film, Di Factory. Cu sprijinul financiar al Institutului de Film Polonez, Eurimages, Centrului Național al Cinematografiei, Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg, Mitteldeutsche Medienforderung și al Televiziunii Române.
Tomasz Wasilewski, scenarist și regizor polonez, a debutat în lungmetraj cu „În dormitor/ W sypialni”, care a avut premiera mondială la Festivalul Internațional de Film de la Karlovy Vary în 2012 și a fost unul dintre filmele poloneze cel mai des prezentate la festivalurile internaționale. Al doilea lungmetraj al lui, „Zgârie-nori suspendați/ Płynące Wieżowce”, a avut premiera mondială la Tribeca Film Festival în 2013. Criticii de film americani de la IndieWire l-au ales drept „cel mai bun film prezentat la Tribeca”. Ulterior, a obținut trofeul secțiunii East of the West a Festivalului Internațional de Film de la Karlovy Vary în 2013, premiul pentru cel mai bun regizor la TIFF 2014, Premiul publicului în competiția internațională New Horizons de la Wrocław, premiul pentru cel mai talentat regizor debutant și Marele premiu al juriului la Gdynia Film Festival din Polonia. În 2016, cineastul a fost inclus de revista Variety pe lista „10 Europeans to Watch”. Al treilea film al său, „Statele unite ale iubirii/ Zjednoczone Stany Miłości” a avut premiera mondială în competiție la Festivalul Internațional de Film de la Berlin 2016, unde a câștigat Ursul de Argint pentru scenariu. Tomasz Wasilewski a fost nominalizat la categoria cel mai bun scenarist european la a 29-a ediție a Premiilor Academiei Europene de Film și desemnat cel mai bun regizor la festivalurile de la Valletta și Gdynia.
