Și în cel mai rău caz, reptile uriașe care te înfulecă dintr-o înghițitură. Și o gorilă considerată zeu pe-aici.
Aseară am avut onoarea să mă prezint la Grand Cinema în fața regelui monștrilor. I-am urmărit filmul și mi-a plăcut, fiindcă cele câteva scăpări pe care le are pot fi iertate. Kong: Insula Craniilor se lansează pe 10 martie în cinematografe, distribuit de Freenman Entertainment. Trăiască regele!
Aventura se petrece imediat după ce armata SUA decide să se retragă din Vietnam, când niște oameni de știință de la Monarch cer o escortă militară pentru a explora Insula Craniilor înaintea rușilor, având nevoie de arme doar așa, „just in case”. M-am cam săturat, ce-i drept, de secvențele introductive în care se derulează un mic rezumat al istoriei omenirii, cum în cazul de față se relatează ce s-a întâmplat de la încheierea Celui de-al Doilea Război Mondial până la finele războiului din Vietman. Dar nu m-a deranjat această tehnică, ea având scop și sens în firul narativ.
Cele mai impozante cadre sunt cele în care echipa pătrunde pentru prima oară pe teritoriul insulei în elicopterele militare. Elicele se învârt cu încetinitorul pe fundaluri arătoase, muzica epocii se aude în boxe, păsări deocamdată normale își iau zborul – totul este încântător de estetic. Aceste scene nu sunt întrecute decât de luptele pe care Kong le poartă cu adversarii din habitatul său natural, dar și cu oamenii sâcâitori. Două lupte cu alte specii de pe insulă le-am considerat mai memorabile decât atacurile oamenilor.
Efectele 3D sunt satisfăcătoare și adaugă puțină profunzime imaginii, dar nu te aștepta să ți se taie răsuflarea. Iar cu toată forța tehnologiei cinematografice noi, scenariul nu uită de filmele mai vechi și plătește tribut rețetei nemuritoare de filme cu monștri.
Unele schimburi de replici puteau fi scrise clar mai bune. Cum poți întreba de câteva ori la rând, tu și alți colegi „Ce-i asta?!” atunci când o gorilă uriașă intră în spectrul vostru vizual în întreaga ei splendoare? Nu e evident că tocmai v-ați întâlnit cu o maimuță supradimensionată? Tot în această zonă mă întreb de ce au ratat ocazia să-i dea lui Samuel L. Jackson o replică de genul „That is a big motherfucking gorilla!”, când cu alte ocazii actorul chiar își folosește vocabularul caracteristic.
Că tot veni vorba de personajul Packard, față de acesta am cam singura insatisfacție legată de dezvoltare a personajelor. Deși pentru un așa film, în care numeroase personaje secundare sunt amuzant/terifiant consumate de animalele de pradă, de la Packard, fiind mai important, așteptam să înțeleg mai multe despre motivația sa, vag sugerată la începutul poveștii, parcă lăsată în coadă de pește. Esențială este totuși privirea cu care îl înfruntă pe Rege.
Fetelor, cred că îl veți adora pe Tom Hiddleston costumat pentru expediții tropicale și mai ales când se luptă vitejește cu reptile vânturând sabia. Rolul său de erou este esențial poveștii, iar jocul pe care îl face este potrivit. Dar aș bănui că primirea sa în rândul distribuției are legătură și cu aducerea unui argument în plus pentru a convinge mai multe fete să vină la cinema.
Ceilalți actori își păstrează prestația cunoscută. Samuel L. Jackson este „motherf***ing” Samuel L. Jackson. John Goodman este simpatic ca întotdeauna. John C. Reilly este nostim. Pe scurt, nimic ieșit din comun din partea nici unui actor, dacă îți plăceau oricum de dinainte, nu vei fi dezamăgit.
Dacă ți-a plăcut reboot-ul Godzilla din 2014, îți va plăcea și acest film. De fapt, sunt șanse să îți placă mai mult chiar dacă nu ai văzut Godzilla, fiindcă este mai colorat și pulsează de viață. Majoritatea întâplărilor fenomenale se petrec în plină zi, când poți vedea monștrii în toată splendoarea lor.
Într-o mare de filme de acest gen, Kong: Skull Island nu s-ar deosebi cu aproape nimic, dar ca film centrat pe faimoasa gorilă, este unul din cele mai bune, dacă nu cel mai bun. În aceste săptămâni este însă cel mai spectaculos film al momentului și merită văzut. O distracție de două ore garantată pentru aproape toate vârstele.
Nu plecați la genericul de final. Vă așteaptă o scenă care leagă filmul de restul filmelor ce vor urma în așa numitul MonsterVerse. Asemenea universului Marvel, Legendary Pictures plănuiesc un univers comun pentru filmele cu monștrii de teapa lui Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan și alți Kaiju. Evident, cel mai așteptat eveniment trebuie să fie o luptă King Kong v Godzilla.
