Încă de la începuturile timpului, Minionii au servit (și din greșeală au eliminat) pe cei mai nesuferiți răufăcători din istorie. Atunci când ultima greșeală explozivă a lor îi lasă fără un lider malefic, Minionii intră într-o depresie profundă. Pentru a preveni colapsul grupului, trei eroi neobișnuiți: Kevin, Stuart și Bob, pornesc într-o călătorie spre găsirea unui nou șef. Atunci când căutarea lor îi aduce la ticăloasa Scarlet Overkill, cei trei Minioni trebuie să înfrunte cea mai mare provocare a lor de până acum: salvarea întregii rase…de la anihilare!
