. Pearl Harbor, e o dramă lansată în 2001 regizată de Michael Bay, după un scenariu scris de Randall Wallace. Acțiunea se bazaează pe atacul dar prin surpindere de către armata marinei imperiale japoneze împotriva bazei navale americane care se afla la Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, în dimineața zilei de duminică 7 decembrie 1941. După aces atac americanii au intra în al II-lea război mondial. Este povestea unei victorii eroice, a curajului și a dragostei fără limite, a impactului devastator al războiului.
În Tennese 1923, Rafe şi Danny sunt 2 prieteni care se joacă de-a războiul. 18 ani mai târyiu, în ianuarie 1941 amândoi prieteni sunt locotenenţi sub comanda maiorului Jmmy Doolittle. Al doilea război mondial era deja început, doar că SUA nu a intrat în Război. Rafe se oferă voluntar să meargă să lupte în război alături de britanici în escadrila Eagle. Doar că cu 4 săptămâni mai devreme Rafe s-a îndrăgostit iremediabil de asistenta Evelyn, după ce aceasta îl trece examenul medical. Singura problemă? Rafe se prebăbuşeşte în ocean şi toată lumea îl crede mort. Aşa că… Danny ajunge să se îndrăgostească de Evelyn. Bineînţeles ştiţi ce urmează. Doar că intrarea în război e privită din perspectiva triunghiului amoros. Cum se va termina această aventură? Vă las pe voi să aflaţi.
Ben Affleck e locotenentul Rafe McCawley, cel mai talentat pilot din escadrilă şi care are dislexie. Affleck declara: „N-aș fi acceptat rolul dacă mi s-ar fi părut propagandistic”;
Josh Hartnett e locotenentul Danny Walker, un pilot la fel de talentat şi cel mai bun prieten a lui Rafe;
Kate Beckinsale e asistenta Evelyn Johnson de care se îndrăgostesc cei 2 prieteni;
Alex Baldwin e maiorul Jimmy Doolittle superiorul celor 2 prieteni;
Jon Voight e preşedintele Franklin Roosevelt;
Mako e amiralul Isroku Yamamoto, cel care ordonă atacul asupra Pearl Harbor. Din punctul său de vedere războiul e inevitabil Americanii au oprit exportul de petrol vital japonezilor, aceștia avânt petrol doar pentru 18 luni. Singura soluție e un atac neașteptat în forță cu piloți kamikaze la Pearl Harbor.
. Producătorul Jerry Bruckheimer spunea: „Pearl Harbor este una dintre cele mai mari tragedii americane, dar ne amintește că putem renaște din prorpia cenuță și merge spre glorie. Deși e o poveste despre prietenie și dragoste, care vorbește despre acei oameni, femei sau bărbați, civili sau militari care au trăit în acea perioadă. Pearl Harbor i-a stupefiat pe americani. Nu erau pregătiți de război. Băieții au devenit bărbați peste noapte și nimic nu a mai fost ca înainte. De cealaltă parte japonezii luptau și ei pentru supraviețuire.” Pe scurt, producătorul a încercat ăs realizeze un film care să dostreze dar care să și capteze atenția în același timp, onorându-i pe eroi. Din punctul meu de vedere e foarte reușit și e cel mai bun film de război care l-am văzut până acum. E doar a 25-a oară când l-am revăzut. Mai am până prind Armageddon din urmă. 😉 Diferența e că până acum l-am vizionat la TV, pe casetă video sau DVD, dar de data asta l-am revăzut pe Blu-ray. Pot să vă spun că e o diferență de la „Cer la Pământ” între calitatea de pe DVD și cea de pe Blu-ray.
. Platoul de filmare a fost vizitat de multi supravietuitori ai atacului din 1941. Multi nu discutaserã niciodatã despre acele zile de cosmar. Dar acum, bãtrîni, însotiti de copii sau nepoti au început sã-si împãrtãseascã experientele echipei de filmare. Echipa si figurantii au format cercuri în jurul bãtrînilor povestitori. Au fost momente impresionante. Povestea din cartea de istorie si aceste amintiri crude erau de necomparat. Scenaristul Randall Wallace spunea: „Ca scenarist n-am fost interesat de istorie, așa cum e ea văzută din Washington, ci de cea resimțită de oamenii obișnuiți. Cred că soarta lumii se află în mâinile fiecăruia dintre noi. Tolstoi spunea că un om care-și aruncă arma și fuge spre restul regimentului țipând va stârni panică. Dar unul, care ridică steagul căzut și aleargă spre inamic, strigând , va aduna tot regimentul. Eu văd eroismul, ca pe ceva real și tangibil și asta am vrut să descriu în scenariu”.
. Dacă privim filmul din perspectiva japoneză aveau și ei dreptatea lor. Dar în război nu are nimeni dreptate. Creatorii filmului Pearl Harbor au vrut să se asigure că povestea e echilibrată din punct de vedere istoric, că reflectă nu doar perspectiva americană, ci și pe cea japoneză. Povestea se axează și pe una din figurile istorice japoneze importante, amiralul Yamamoto. Niciun personaj nu e cu adevărat malefic. Regizorul Michael Bay care a fost și producător spunea: „Am lucrat cu mulți consultanți japonezi care erau prezenți ori de câte ori filmam scene cu japonezi.”
. Pearl Harbor a primit 2 nominalizări la Globurile de Aur pentru: cea mai bună piesă originală, cea mai bună coloană sonoră și 3 nominalizări la premiile Oscar pentru: cel mai bun sunet cele mai bune efecte vizuale și cea mai bună muzică originală.
. Pearl Harbor s-a lansat în România pe DVD și Blu-ray. Ca bonus pe Blu-ray veți putea viziona un scurt documentar cu perspectiva japoneză și videoclipul Faith Hill – There you’ll be. Cu siguranță e un unl din filmele care nu trebuie să lipsească din colecția niciunui cinefil înrăit.
