“Robinson Crusoe” este o animație încântătoare pentru întreaga familie. Ceea ce mi-a plăcut cel mai mult a fost faptul că povestea lui Crusoe este prezentată din perspectiva animalelor care, inițial, îl privesc cu teamă și îl resping, însă treptat încep să îl placă și să îl accepte pe aşa-zisul monstru.
Corabia lui Robinson Crusoe naufragiază pe o insulă pe care, aparent, nu locuiește nimeni. Crusoe împreună cu Aynsley, câinele său, încearcă să exploreze insula și să își construiască un adăpost, însă își dau seama foarte repede că nu sunt singuri. Animalele de pe insulă le urmăresc fiecare mișcare și îi privesc cu reținere, fiindu-le teamă de ceea ce ar putea să facă cei doi monștri – Crusoe și câinele său. Singurul care este entuziasmat de venirea celor doi este Mak, un papagal, care visează să descopere alte ținuturi și crede că aceasta este singura șansă de a părăsi insula.
Ceea ce nu știu animelele este că și ele sunt urmărite de pericol, mai exact – de două pisici periculoase care au supraviețuit furtunii și care vor să se răzbune pe Crusoe. Mai mult decât atât, pisicile vor să preia controlul asupra insulei și să îl facă pe Robinson să plătească pentru anii în care au trebuit să stea în partea cea mai întunecată a navei.
Treptat, Crusoe câștigă încrederea animalelor și devin cei mai buni prieteni, însă ei nu știu că se află într-un mare pericol deoarece pisicile plănuiesc să îi atace cât de curând.
Animația regizată de Vincent Kesteloot și Ben Stassen este încântătoare cu un scenariu solid și personaje bine conturate. Animalele de pe insulă, dintre care – Mak, un papagal roșu, Rosie, un tapir dolofan și Epi, o echidnă – sunt adorabile și reprezintă starurile animației.
Scenariul este inspirat după romanul clasic al lui Daniel Defoe, însă nu rămâne aproape nimic din povestea originală. Dacă doriți să vedeți o ecranizare a cărții lui Defoe atunci, cu siguranță, trebuie să vizionați lungmetrajul lui Luis Buñuel lansat în 1954. Însă dacă doriți să vedeți ceva diferit, atunci cea mai bună alegere este animația în regia lui Vincent Kesteloot și Ben Stassen.
Așa cum am spus deja, Robinson este un personaj secundar, protagoniștii fiind animalele de pe insulă care prezintă povestea lui Crusoe. Muzica lui Ramin Djawadi aduce o contribuție importantă animației, la fel ca efectele 3D care sunt excelente.
