The Hateful Eight e unul din proiectele de suflet ale lui Tarantino. Acest western are o distribuție magnifică: Samuel L Jackson, Kurt Rusell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen și Bruce Dern.
Acțiunea din The Hateful Eight se petrece la şase sau 8 ani după Războiul Civil American, iar o trăsură goneşte prin peisajul îngheţat al Wyoming-ului. Pasagerii sunt vânătorul de recompense John Ruth şi captura sa, Daisy Domergue. Aceştia se îndreaptă spre Red Rock, unde Ruth, cunoscut drept „Călăul” prin părţile acestea, o va preda justiţiei pe Domergue. Pe drum, întâlnesc doi necunoscuţi, maiorul Maquis Warren, un fost membru al armatei de unionişti transformat într-un josnic vânător de recompense, şi Chris Mannix, un renegat din sud care pretinde că este noul şerif al oraşului. Pierduţi în viscolul stârnit, Ruth, Domergue, Warren şi Mannix caută adăpost la popasul pentru trăsuri din cea mai apropiată trecătoare, condus de Minnie Haberdashery. Ajunşi la popas, sunt întâmpinaţi nu de Minnie, ci de patru străini. Bob, cel care are grijă de adăpostul lui Minnie, plecată să îşi viziteze mama, îi are alături pe Oswaldo Mobray, călăul din Red Rock, cowboy-ul Joe Gage şi generalul Confederaţiei, Sanford Smithers. Pe măsură ce vijelia cuprinde şi trecătoarea unde s-au adăpostit, cei opt călători încep să realizeze că este foarte posibil să nu mai ajungă deloc la Red Rock…
Eu, unul, sper ca The Hateful Eight să nu fie un fiasco, dar având în vedere că se va lupta cu Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, nu știu ce să zic.
