Lungmetrajul „Arsenie. Viața de apoi”, road movie documentar scris și regizat de Alexandru Solomon, va avea premiera în cinematografele din România pe 1 septembrie 2023, producția fiind distribuită de microMULTILATERAL.
„Arsenie. Viața de apoi” va avea avanpremiera națională la sfârșitul acestei săptămâni la Cluj-Napoca, în cadrul celei de-a 22-a ediții a Festivalului Internațional de Film Transilvania (TIFF). Documentarul va fi proiectat vineri, 16 iunie, ora 16:30, la Casa de Cultură a Studenților, fiind inclus în programul Zilele Filmului Românesc.
Premiera internațională va vea loc luna viitoare, pelicula fiind inclusă în competiția “Proxima” a celei de-a 57-a ediții a Festivalului Internațional de Film de la Karlovy Vary (30 iunie – 8 iulie 2023).
Filmul lui Alexandru Solomon merge pe urmele lui Arsenie Boca, într-un pelerinaj pus în scenă. Pelerinii și regizorul refac presupusele miracole atribuite părintelui, le dezbat și se confesează. Prin ochii credincioșilor, observați de un regizor sceptic, filmul surprinde cum se reflectă societatea românească în imaginea acestui om care urmează să fie canonizat.
„În miezul frustrărilor noastre, privirea hipnotică a unui călugăr mort de mai bine de trei decenii ne promite o lume mai bună. O lume dezamăgită, care și-a pierdut încrederea în orice, așteaptă de la acest viitor sfânt miracolul unor schimbări care nu s-au mai petrecut. Legenda părintelui Arsenie Boca umple golul lăsat de deziluziile ultimilor 30 de ani. După o viață mai degrabă obișnuită pentru timpurile în care a trăit, Arsenie Boca se bucură de o viață de apoi ieșită din comun, devenind nu numai o figură salvatoare pentru milioane de oameni sau un brand omniprezent, ci și o icoană a timpurilor frământate pe care le trăim”, spune Alexandru Solomon.
Posterul de lansare a filmului a fost realizat de SADDO, artist contemporan de origine română, stabilit în prezent la București.
Producătorii filmului sunt Ada Solomon, Diana Caravia, Adrien Chef și Paul Thiltges. Imaginea este semnată de Tudor Platon și Marius Beșu, montajul, de Cătălin Cristuțiu și Sophie Reiter, muzica originală este compusă de Alin Zăbrăuțeanu, în timp ce Andrei Coteț face improvizația handpan și flaut, sunet priză directă, de Mirel Cristea și Marin Cazacu, montajul de sunet e realizat de Dragoș Cătărău, designul de sunet, de Alin Zăbrăuțeanu, mixajul de sunet, de Thomas Bresson, iar editarea dialogului și premix, de Alexandru Dumitru.
Producția microFilm realizată în co-producție cu Paul Thiltges Distributions și Hi Film Productions, va participa la festivalul din Cehia cu sprijinul Centrului Național al Cinematografiei, al Uniunii Cineaștilor din România, DACIN SARA, UPFAR ARGOA și al Institutului Cultural Român.
Alexandru Solomon, regizor şi director de imagine, este cunoscut pentru lungmetraje documentare ca „Marele jaf comunist” (2004), despre jaful Băncii Naţionale Române din 1959, pentru care a câştigat marele premiu la festivalul Mediawave (Ungaria), „Război pe calea undelor/ Cold Waves” (2007), un film despre Radio Europa Liberă, pe tema propagandei din timpul Războiului Rece, „Kapitalism – reţeta noastră” (2010), o revenire fictivă a dictatorului Nicolae Ceauşescu într-o nouă societate cu obiceiuri cunoscute ale oamenilor de afaceri, „România: Patru patrii” (2015), cu scriitorii Mircea Cărtărescu, Gabriela Adameşteanu, Florin Lăzărescu şi Norman Manea, și „Ouăle lui Tarzan” (2017), despre primul institut de primatologie din lume. Începând cu anul 2010, Alexandru Solomon predă la UNArte și este este președintele Asociației One World Romania. În 2016, a publicat monografia „Reprezentări ale memoriei în filmul documentar”.
