- Evenimentul a fost un omagiu adus actorului Ion Caramitru care s-a alăturat echipei pro bono, fiind impresionat de subiect și de miza artistică a filmului.
- Cercetarea pentru acest lung-metraj istoric a presupus un efort de analiză a arhivelor și interviuri, pe o durată de de 3 ani. La mai bine de 30 de ani de la căderea regimului comunist, România încă mai are de documentat acest fenomen.
București, 10 martie 2022. Filmul artistic independent despre Experimentul Pitești, început în 2011 prin eforturile regizoarei Victoria Baltag, a avut Proiecția de Gală in memoriam Ion Caramitru la Sala Ion Caramitru a Teatrului Național București ieri, 9 martie 2022. Lungmetrajul prezintă unul dintre cele mai înfiorătoare experimente de mutilare emoțională și fizică prin tortură, realizat de regimul comunist – Experimentul Pitești. Proiectul este rezultatul a 10 ani de muncă benevolă și voluntară a peste 600 de oameni.
Despre eveniment
Evenimentul s-a bucurat de un public numeros format din oficialități, membri echipei de filmare și mulți pasionați de subiectul filmului. În deschiderea evenimentului a vorbit criticul de film Irina Margareta Nistor care, de altfel, a ocupat rolul de amfitrion al serii. Au rostit câteva cuvinte D-l Mircea Rusu, Directorul Teatrului Național, D-l Sergiu Nistor, Consilier Prezidențial, apoi regizoarea Victoria Baltag a susținut un discurs emoționant despre acest proiect de suflet. Au urcat pe scenă și 4 rude ale foștilor deținuți politici care, preț de 1 minut, au spus de ce cred că acest proiect este necesar.

Evenimentul a fost un omagiu adus actorului Ion Caramitru care s-a alăturat echipei de filmare pro bono, fiind impresionat de subiect și de eforturile realizării filmului în cadru independent. Pe 9 martie 2022, chiar în ziua dedicată proiecției, Ion Caramitru ar fi împlinit 80 de ani. Au fost create două portrete al lui Ion Caramitru format din mii de fotografii din timpul filmărilor lungmetrajului „Experimentul Pitești” Acestea pot fi vizonate începând de astăzi la TNB în foaierul Sălii Ion Caramitru.
Context
Despre Experimentul Pitești știm că „A fost una dintre cele mai cumplite experiențe de dezumanizare pe care le-a cunoscut epoca noastră”, așa cum afirmă istoricul François Furet, membru al Academiei Franceze. Perioada nefastă a istoriei, între 1949-1952, a făcut mii de victime: reeducarea, tortură fizică și mentală a studenților din România, inițiată de comuniști. Scopul: crearea omului de tip nou. Cei care aveau o altă convingere politică sau religioasă, alta decât cele agreate de regim, erau supuși reeducării prin tortură. A fost considerat cel mai agresiv program de spălare a minții din Europa de Est.
„Evenimentul de aseară a fost încununarea celor mai bine de 10 ani de muncă asiduă la acest proiect mai mult decât necesar. Ca să ne dezvoltam sănătos, este important să ne cunoaștem trecutul, să ni-l asumăm, să învățăm din el și să evităm să se mai întâmple asemenea atrocități. Încă mai avem nevoie de ajutor în completarea costurilor pe care trebuie să le acoperim (remunerația actorilor și echipei, taxele pentru aplicațiile la festivaluri, distribuție, și multe, multe altele. „Era firesc ca Teatrul Național ”I.L.Caragiale” să susțină fără ezitare acest proiect, nu doar ambițios, ci și tulburător prin gravitatea temei abordate, găzduind evenimentul lansării în avanpremieră a filmului, totodată un omagiu adus memoriei lui Ion Caramitru, în chiar ziua când actorul ar fi împlinit 80 de ani. Îi felicităm pe toți realizatorii și, nu în ultimul rînd pe Victoria Baltag, care a reușit să catalizeze atâtea energii pentru a-și duce la bun sfârșit filmul Experimentul Pitești, gest curajos și necesar de recuperare a istoriei. ”, declară reprezentanții Teatrului Național ”I.L. Caragiale”.
