Furtună extremă, titlu original The finest hours, e dramă eroică regizată de Craig Gillespie. Scenariul a fost inspirat din romanul The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Most Daring Sea Rescue scris de Michael J Tougias şi Casey Sherman. E ecranizarea celei mai îndrăzneţe misiuni de salvare din istoria Pazei de Coastă Americane. Am vizionat filmul la cinema Dacia Reşiţa, ieri de la ora 21:00.
Acţiunea filmului ne poartă în noiembrie 1951 când un Bernie Webber stângaci face cunoştinţă cu Miriam. Totul se întâmplă după ce au vorbit un an la telefon. Pe de 18 februarie 1952, o furtună cumplită a lovit coasta de est a Statelor Unite făcând prăpăd în largul oceanului. În această furtună au fost prinse două tancuri petroliere imense: SS Pendleton şi SS Fort Mercer, care se îndreptau spre Boston, respectiv Portland. Ambele nave au fost rupte în două. Problema e că toate navele de salvare pornesc să-i salveze pe cei de pe Fort Mercer. Şeful mecanic de la cârma lui Pendleton, Raymond Sybert, dându-şi seama de pericol, preia comanda echipajului înspăimântat şi face tot posibilul pentru a ţine nava pe linie de plutire până la sosirea ajutoarelor.
La Paza de Coastă din Chatham, Massachusetts, ofţerul responsabil, Daniel Cluff, recent numit şef al postului, după ce află că există o a doua navă în pericol extrem, eşuată în apele din apropiere, e nevoit să apeleze la oamenii din rezervă. Aşa că îi ordonă timonierului Bernie Webber să adune rapid un echipaj şi să scoată în larg şalupa de salvare CG36500 ca să caute supravieţuitorii. Astfel… Webber şi echipajul lui din 3 oameni s-au îmbarcat pe şalupa de salvare din lemn, lungă de doar 10 metri, şi au ieşit în larg pentru a îndeplini periculoasa misiune, cu şanse infime de izbândă. Încă de la început cei care nu au făcut parte din echipaj i-au sfătuit să dea o tură portului şi să spună că nu au reuşit să iasă în larg, pentru că altfel merg la moarte sigură. Era o misiune imposibilă și automat sinucigașă.
Doar că Webber execută ordinele chiar dacă îşi pune în pericol viaţa sa şi a echipajului său. Încă înainte de a ieşi din rada micuţului port Chatham, parbrizul şalupei şi busola sunt distruse de valurile violente. În loc să se întoarcă în port, echipajul decide să se lupte cu valurile de 15 metri şi cu temperaturi sub limita de îngheţ chiar dacă vizibilitatea e redusă. Singura problemă e că pe şalupă au loc 12 oameni cu tot cu echipaj, iar pe nava Pendelton sunt 33 de suflete. Oare vor reuşi să ducă misiunea la bun sfârşit sau vor muri cu toţii?!
Din punctul meu de vedere, Furtună extremă e unul din cele mai eroice filme care au rulat vreodată pe marele ecran. Dacă am executa şi noi misiunile date şi am respecta legile cu stricteţe probabil nu am fi unde suntem. Mi-a plăcut că filmul s-a axat pe pericolele prin care trece barca de salvare şi nava ruptă în bucăţi. Filmul se concentrează pe trăirile celor 2 căpitani: Webber şi Sybert. Unul încearcă să salveze supravieţuitorii, iar celălat încearcă să ţină vasul la suprafaţă până vin ajutoarele.
Nu-mi vine să cred că acest film a avut un buget de doar 80 de milioane de dolari. Efectele 3D sunt magnifice iar actorii sunt la înălţime. Veţi ajunge să trăiţi aventura alături de ei. Chiar sunt curios cum ar fi fost experienţa în 4Dx. Cel mai rău îmi pare că filmul a fost realizat de Disney. De ce?! Pentru că de 2 ani de zile nu mai lansează filme pe Blu-ray 3D în România. Eu nu înţeleg, dacă nu sunt mulţumiţi de vânzări de ce le mai lansează în format 2D pe DVD și Blu-ray?! Că noi cei care suntem înnebuniţi să avem filmele originale în format 3D le cumpărăm de peste hotare (în plus, prețurile se reduc mult mai repede decât la noi, iar unele filme sunt mai ieftine decât la noi în momentul în care se lansează).
Chris Pine e Bernie Webber un paznic de coastă timid dar curajos, care cunoaşte apele din zonă „ca-n palmă”. Debordează de curaj la datorie, dar e foarte sfios în relaţiile cu femeile. Nu de alta, dar iubita sa Miriam îl cere de soţ; 😀
Kyle Gallner e ofițerul mecanic Andy Fitzgerald, un începător care i-a luat locul prietenului și superiorului său Mel „Gus” Gouthro (Beau Knapp), pentru că acesta era bolnav în momentul respectiv şi a a fost nevoit să rămână la sediul Pazei de Coastă din Chatham;
Echipajul de salvare mai e format din Richard Livesey (Ben Foster) şi Ervin Maske (John Magaro);
Casey Affleck e Raymond Sybert, tânărul inginer de pe nava Pendleton care se mobilizează pentru a-i salva pe ceilalţi. Acesta cunoaște nava până la ultimul șurub și încearcă să salveze cât mai multe persoane cu putință până la sosirea Pazei de Coastă;
Holliday Grainger e Miriam, iubita şi logodnica lui Bernie care e în stare să facă orice pentru iubitul său. Cu siguranţă vă veţi dori o astfel de soţie;
Eric Bana e Daniel Cluff, şef la postului din Chatham care nu pare deloc stăpân pe situaţie. Nu prea pare să ştie ce face.
Fitzgerald a părăsit Paza de Coastă la scurt timp după curajoasa misiune de salvare. El are acum 84 de ani ș trăiește cu soția sa în Colorado. El spune: „Unii încă privesc salvarea echipajului de pe Pendleton ca pe o misiune sinucigașă, dar eu nu am văzut-o niciodată așa. Cum spuneam pe vremea aceea: ‘Trebuie să te duci, dar nu e obligatoriu să te și întorci.’ Era treaba noastră să salvăm oameni și asta am făcut și sunt al naibii de mândru de asta.” În prima zi nimeni nu a avut încredere în el ca să-l trimită să ancoreze bărcile de pescuit ale localnicilor. Dar cand a fost nevoie de un echipaj care să plece după Pendleton, nu mai erau mulți oameni la post. Așa că Andy s-a oferit voluntar.
Bernie era un timonier excelent și cunoștea apele destul de bine. Deși acesta spunea că a fost noroc chior că au găsit tancul petrolier uriaș, ceilalți nu sunt de aceeași părere. Coloana sonoră și sunetul își fac foarte bine treaba. Cei care se uită la scenariu, le spun de pe acum. Scenariul e previzibil dar trebuie apreciat eroismul de care dau dovadă personajele, pentru că până la urmă acesta e un film despre eroism, curaj, camaraderie şi spirit de sacrificiu.
Momentan e cel mai bun film văzut de mine la cinema în acest an. Aşa că dacă vă place trailer-ul eu vă urez vizionare plăcută:
