Cel mai mare festival de scurtmetraje din România, ajuns la ediția a noua, se deschide oficial miercuri, 15 aprilie, de la ora 19.30, la Cinema Studio din București. Până pe 19 aprilie, Festivalul Internațional de Film NexT vine cu 146 dintre cele mai noi și mai bune filme scurte recente, în nu mai puțin de 17 secțiuni, zeci de invitați speciali, seminarii și petreceri, în opt locații diferite. Oscars Night, Monsters Night, seara LGBT, Kung Fu NexT sunt doar câteva dintre programele de neratat ale ediției. Anul acesta, pasionații de film au șansa să o întâlnească la NexT pe Claire Denis, una dintre cele mai importante autoare din cinema-ul contemporan.
La gala de deschidere, Ada Solomon, fondatoarea Societății Culturale NexT, și Yvonne Irimescu, coordonatoarea festivalului, vor prezenta cele mai importante momente ale ediției. Deschiderea va fi urmată de scurtmetrajele din secțiunea nouă Behind the Scenes. De la comedie absurdă la desktop documentary, filmele aruncă un ochi spre ce se întâmplă în spatele camerei de filmat. Două dintre ele sunt românești: Artă, în regia lui Adrian Sitaru, și Fata care mănâncă pizza, de Ion Indolean, Bogdan Coste și Adrian Cârlugea.
În aceeași seară, de la 20.30, în Club Control, cele șase filme provocatoare din secțiunea LGBT vor pune în discuție prejudecățile despre sexualitate și minoritățile sexuale. O petrecere plină de surprize marca Tomboy, dedicată comunității LGBT, va încinge atmosfera până noaptea târziu.
Prima zi de festival e cu emoții pentru cei 14 participanți la concursul de The Pitch, organizat de ShortsTV. Miercuri, de la 12.00, la Cărturești Verona, aceștia își vor prezenta proiectele în fața camerei de filmat. Concurenții la premiul de 5.000 de euro sunt Anca Boariu (Apartment for Sale), Anca Oproiu (Drapelului, str. nr. 1), Andreea Borțun (When Night Meets Dawn), Claudiu Iordache (Spongebob Lunchbox), George ve Gänæaard (Motan’s Cat), George Buzoianu (My Father Died), Ozana Nicolau (Good Friday), Paul Mureșan (Mom, Dad, I Have to Tell you Something…), Raia Al Souliman (Forevers), Ruxandra Ghițescu (Ana is Coming Back), Sarra Tsorakidis (Years From Now and Only if You Look at It from Afar), Sergiu Lupșe (Night Time), Ștefania Matei (Portrait with Cake) și Vlad Andrei Ghinea (Bootcamp).
