Sony Pictures Entertainment a lansat pe 18 martie trailerul oficial al celui mai recent film al lui Chris Columbus, “Pixels: O aventură digitală”. În doar 24 de ore, filmul, ce urmează a fi lansat la nivel mondial pe 24 iulie, a fost văzut de 34,3 milioane de oameni, devenind astfel cel mai de succes trailer lansat vreodată de Sony Pictures. Cel mai bun debut de până acum îi aparținea filmului “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”, văzut în 24 de ore de 22 de milioane de oameni.
Pentru a atinge și a contoriza acest record, cei de la Sony Pictures Entertainment au apelat la canalele de social media, digital footprint și, bineînțeles, la vedetele ce se regăsesc pe lista de distribuție a filmului: Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Kevin James și Ashley Benson. Au apelat la canalele de social media deținute de Sony, Sony Pictures, Sony Pictures international markets, Sony Electronics și Sony Rewards, dar și la Xperia Lounge on Sony Mobile și Sony’s Times Square Billboard.
Acțiunea din “Pixels: O aventură digitală” începe când o rasă extraterestră interpretează greşit imagini din jocuri video clasice şi atacă Pământul, iar preşedintele Will Cooper (Kevin James) apelează la prietenul său din copilărie Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), pe atunci campion la jocuri video, pentru a elabora contraofensiva umană. Cu ajutorul altor împătimiţi ai jocurilor (Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad), Sam va înfrunta extratereştri, iar de priceperea sa depinde însuşi viitorul umanităţii. Din distribuţia filmului mai fac parte Brian Cox, Ashley Benson, Jane Krakowski, dar şi japonezul Toru Iwatani, creatorul lui Pac-Man, cu o apariţie în propriul rol.
