Fiind o mare fană a dramelor, mai ales de război, m-am hotărât ieri să vizionez Lone Survivor, film apărut în 2013 și nominalizat la 2 premii Oscar (pentru cea mai bună editare de sunet și pentru cel mai bun mixaj sonor). Bazat pe cartea lui Marcus Luttrell, protagonistul filmului, scenariul ne prezintă povestea unei operațiuni eșuate, Red Wings, care duce la moartea a 3 dintre cei 4 membri ai grupului însărcinat cu misiunea de a-l lichida pe unul dintre cei mai importanți lideri talibani – Shah. Bineînțeles că producția are și nuanțe propagandiste, cum America luptă pentru alții și pentru libertate, băgându-și nasul cam în toate oalele posibile. Dar, pe de altă parte, n-am putut să nu rămân impresionată de deznodământul filmului: spiritul de solidaritate de care dau dovadă neașteptații salvatori ai lui Marcus ne arată încă o dată că nu culoarea pielii e importantă, religia în care crezi sau neamul de care ții, ci legile morale după care te ghidezi și onoarea pentru care știi și vrei să lupți.
Regizorul și scenaristul Peter Berg (cunoscut pentru Battleship, film pe care el plănuia să-l lanseze după Lone Survivor) reușește într-un mod foarte abil să țeasă o atmosferă împovărată de gloanțe și sânge, dar căreia nu-i lipsește totuși o notă de speranță. Deși afli de la început cine e supraviețuitorul, nu poți rămâne pasiv și rece în fața evenimentelor care-i aruncă în cea mai nedreaptă luptă pe Murphy (Taylor Kitsch – Battleship), Danny (Emile Hirsch – Into the wild), Marcus (Mark Wahlberg – The fighter) și Axe (Ben Foster – Pandorum). Pădurea în care se desfășoară aproape toată acțiunea te înghite și te scuipă pe rocile care se scaldă în soare, în timp ce sângele curge din răni nenumărate. Nu mai e vorba de cine are dreptate aici, ci de curaj, de respect față de cei care luptă cot la cot cu tine și nu te abandonează, de un ideal plătit cu viața. Cei care conduc sunt responsabili pentru minciunile pe care le vând drept adevăruri și motive de înarmare, cu scopul de a se îmbogăți, ei merită acele gloanțe.
Luptele acestea armate nu fac decât să îmbogățească niște buzunare și-așa doldora de bani, în timp ce naivi nebuni și curajoși își varsă sângele pentru cauza greșită. Dar ce să faci, boicot? Atâta timp cât omul va putea fi atât de ușor de păcălit, mulți eroi își vor pierde viețile pe pământ străin. Revenind la film: mi-a plăcut mult povestea și intensitatea la care trăiesc protagoniștii acele momente îngrozitoare în care le fluieră gloanțele pe la urechi. Actorii s-au descurcat minunat, echipa e atât de bine sudată și ei par atât de compatibili încât nu poți decât să te simți neîndreptățit când vezi că doar unul va trăi să spună povestea. Chinul supraviețuitorului provocat de răni și de singurătatea în care se află, pândit constant de inamici, este din ce în ce mai apăsător pe măsură ce puterile îl lasă, iar fanaticii caută să-l decapiteze. Deși durata filmului este destul de mare, nu m-am plictisit nicio secundă așteptând să văd câți vor mai trebui să moară până la final și cine va reuși să-l salveze pe el.
În viața reală, întregul coșmar prin care trec Marcus și echipa e mai lung, 5 zile față de 3. E greu să crezi că a mai putut totuși cineva să scape cu viață dintr-un asemenea infern. Scenele în care cei 4 se aruncă de pe stânci și se prăbușesc, rostogolindu-se și izbindu-se de pietre și copaci sunt foarte dure, ți se încordează ție mușchii involuntar, de parcă tu ești cel care cade și nu se mai poate opri. Dublurile celor 4 actori au făcut cascadoriile excelent, se vede după rezultat, dar munca lor a fost răsplătită cu spitalizarea, în cazul unora. Această producție chiar te ține în suspans și te zdruncină psihic, nu degeaba a declarat Wahlberg de atâtea ori că acesta e filmul de care e cel mai mândru.
