Săptămâna aceasta am avut plăcerea de a viziona în tensiune drama horror post-apocaliptică A Quiet Place / Fără Zgomot la Grand Cinema, un film distribuit de RoImage începând cu 13 aprilie în cinematografele noastre. Sub regia lui John Krasinski, distribuția formată din el însuși, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds și Noah Jupe joacă împreună rolul unei familii nevoite să supraviețuiască în liniște deplină pentru a se ascunde de creaturile înfiorătoare ce vânează după sunet care au invadat Pămăntul. Încă de când ai văzut trailer-ul, știi că este un film care te va ține cu sufletul la gură încercând să nu reacționezi zgomotos.
Când a debutat la South by Southwest Film Festival acum o lună A Quiet Place a primit numeroase reații pozitive atât de partea publicului cât și din partea criticilor de film. Și s-ar putea să fie într-adevăr unul din cele mai bune filme horror ale anului curent, în aceeași manieră în care ne-a surprins și Get Out anul trecut (cu toate că eu am fost mai surprins de Get Out, însă consider că în lipsa altor alternative A Quiet Place ar putea cu ușurință să fie horror-ul primăverii).
Aș începe cu defectele filmului și cu ce s-ar putea să nu-ți placă, înainte de a descrie ce mi-a plăcut mie (ar putea să-ți facă și ție de asemenea pe plac). Acestui film nu-i lipsesc clișeele. În anumite părți sunt necesare înfrumusețării poveștii sau creșterii tensiunii arteriale. Dar totodată ele ne enervează cu precădere în ultima partea a filmului, unde elementele previzibile ne împiedică să ne mai punem mâna la gură cu surprindere.
De aici încolo am cam terminat deja cu minusuruile filmului. Pentru unii cinefili acestea ar putea fi îndeajuns ca să nu le placă filmul sau să nu se lase captivați. În schimb filmul ar merita de fapt să fie văzut pentru maniera în care scenariul te ține captivat în ciuda acelor elemente predictibile dinspre final. Regia arată bine pentru un regizor care nu are alte filme cu răsunet în portofoliu până acum, Krasinski fiind mai repede cunoscut ca actor. A Quiet Place este al treilea său film și primul pentru care va fi cunoscut și în rol de regizor.
Încordarea și liniștea se instalează destul de repede, captivându-te în atmosfera filmului. Povestea nu pierde timp explicându-ne cauzele apocalipsei, căci ele nu sunt cu adevărat necesare, scurtând durata filmului, devenind o porție concentrată de tăcere tensionată de la un capăt la altul. Astfel, acțiunea începe deja după 3 luni de la începutul apocalipsei, sărind apoi la ziua 472.
Am auzit că existase o variantă a scenariului ce avea o singură replică – un concept interesant ce-mi stârnește curiozitatea, care îți dă o idee cam cât de puțin se vorbește în film. Există mai mult decât o singură replică vorbită, în rest comunicarea dintre personaje se realizează la nivel non-verbal. Tare aș vrea să am răbdarea să învât limbajul surdo-mut.
Apropo de tăcere, am apreciat cu zâmbet pe buze clipul dinaintea filmului care promovează tăcerea în sală. În timp ce o mână de spectatori încearcă să nu scoată nici un zgomot din paharele de suc în timpul lui A Quiet Place, cel care mănâncă zgomotos floricele stricând atmosfera de suspans a filmului are parte de o surpriză neplăcută. Faină inițiativa, sper că se dă înainte oricărei proiecții a filmului de față!
Actorii au jucat cu emoție convingătoare, afișând reacții și emoții credibile în toate scenele, nu doar în cele tensionate. Este vorba de o familie simplă care face tot posibilul să-și construiască o viață normală în această nouă lume tăcută. Familia Abbott trece prin situații inedite care m-au făcut să țin mână la gură (recunosc) cuprins de încordare.
Cu siguranță A Quiet Place merită văzut de amatorii de senzații de anxietate, mai ales că în ciuda unor jumpscares sau întorsături de situație previzbile, este un film reușit din punct de vedere al regiei, cu o atmosferă care îmi amintește de jocul The Last of Us câteodată, și bănuiesc că are de a face și coloana sonoră aici.
