“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”, al cincilea film din îndrăgita serie cu piraţi, este regizat de Joachim Rønning şi Espen Sandberg după un scenariu scris de Jeff Nathanson şi produs de Jerry Bruckheimer.
Din distribuţie fac parte: Johnny Depp, Kevin McNally, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites şi Kaya Scodelario.
Am vizionat “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” la T IMAX din AFI Cotroceni şi mă bucur că am avut ocazia să merg la avanpremieră deoarece abia aşteptam să văd pe marele ecran noile aventuri ale lui Jack Sparrow. Chiar dacă al patrulea film din serie nu s-a ridicat la nivelul aşteptărilor tuturor, trebuie să recunosc că mă număr printre fanii mulţumiţi de “On Stranger Tides” şi aşteptam cu nerăbdare continuarea. Iniţial, producătorii de la Disney au dorit să lanseze episodul 5 al francizei în 2015, dar premiera a fost amânată pentru 2016 şi, ulterior, pentru 2017, din motive financiare şi legate de scenariu.
“Dead Men Tell No Tales” mi se pare, per total, un film mai bun decât “On Stranger Tides”, dar consider că, asemenea episodului 4, nu reuşeşte să se ridice la nivelul primelor trei pelicule ale francizei. Scenariul este presărat cu multe replici amuzante, iar Jack Sparrow este din nou greu încercat de soartă sau, mai bine zis, intră în bucluc deoarece atrage situaţii complicate ca un magnet şi va trebui încă o dată să facă tot posibilul să se salveze. Întreaga producţie are un aer familiar datorită, în mare parte, efectelor vizuale, poveştii şi personajelor. De exemplu, Henry Turner şi Carina Smyth m-au făcut să mă gândesc la Will Turner şi Elizabeth Swann, deşi nu au farmecul acestora din urmă. De asemenea, filmul ne aduce aminte de ce îl iubim pe Jack Sparrow şi, cu siguranţă, franciza nu ar mai fi fost la fel dacă Johnny Depp nu ar fi interpretat acest personaj. De fiecare dată când îl văd pe Depp în rolul lui Jack, mi se pare că actorului îi place cu adevărat să fie Sparrow şi să bucure lumea cu şarmul unui pirat neîndemânatic care scapă ca prin urechile acului de o situaţie critică numai ca să intre în alta la fel de complicată şi periculoasă.
“Dead Men Tell No Tales” începe cu un băiat care are o misiune clară, aceea de a-şi salva tatăl. Este vorba despre Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites), fiul lui Will Turner (Olando Bloom) şi Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley). După o scenă emoţionantă în care îl vedem pe Henry copil, acţiunea se mută la nouă ani de la acel moment când Henry, acum adult, continuă să spere că va găsi o cale prin care să îşi elibereze tatăl de blestem şi să îl aducă acasă. După ce a citit tot ce a găsit despre piraţi, legende şi mituri, tânărul crede că singura modalitate să îşi ajute tatăl este să găsească Tridentul lui Poseidon. Carina Smyth (Kaya Scoledario), o tânără orfană sclipitor de inteligentă şi pasionată de astronomie, caută, la rândul ei, obiectul mitic, însă în cale îi apar numeroase obstacole. Numită de britanici vrăjitoare deoarece este o femeie independentă cu noţiuni de astronomie şi orologerie, Carina fuge pentru a îşi salva viaţa. Ea îl întâlneşte pe Henry şi împreună ajung la cel mai notoriu pirat din Caraibe, Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp).
Căpitanul Sparrow trece printr-un moment dificil. Încercarea de a jefui o bancă a dat greş, iar echipajul nu mai are încredere în el. La fel de îngrijorător este faptul că a rămas fără rom.
În timp ce prietenul nostru Jack pare urmărit de ghinion, viaţa este cum nu se poate mai bună cu căpitanul Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), care are tot de îşi poate dori: corăbii, bani şi comori.
Lucrurile se complică destul de repede pentru toată lumea, căci îşi face apariţia un musafir nepoftit, căpitanul Salazar (Javier Bardem), care vrea, indiferent de consecinţe, să îl ucidă pe Sparrow.
Aşadar, Jack se vede nevoit să încheie o alianță cu Henry şi Carina şi împreună cu echipajul său, care decide să rămână alături de el, pornesc în căutarea Tridentului lui Poseidon pe corabia “Pescăruşul muribund”, care, asemenea numelui, nu prevesteşte nimic bun.
Filmul ne oferă o intrigă complicată. Ca de obicei, Sparrow este căutat de mai mulţi “amici” care nu îi vor neapărat binele, iar căpitanul Salazar este, cu siguranţă, cel mai periculos dintre cei care vor capul lui Jack. Vom afla ce a dus la această sete de răzbunare şi cum au ajuns Salazar şi echipajul său sub blestemul care i-a transformat în piraţi fantomă. Cu un aspect de-a dreptul înfiorător, ei vor fi protagoniştii unor urmăriri spectaculoase.
În ceea ce priveşte distribuţia, actorii vechi ai francizei readuc pe marile ecrane farmecul personajelor pe care le interpretează, iar tinerii protagonişti se descurcă foarte bine. Consider că surpriza vine de la actorul Javier Bardem în rolul lui Salazar, o fantomă care nu îşi poate găsi liniştea atâta timp cât Jack este în viaţă. Bardem creează un personaj negativ înspăimântător, obsedat de răzbunare, iar ţinta este, evident, Sparrow.
Disney nu a anunţat până acum dacă va lucra la un sequel, însă având în vedere că după terminarea genericului a introdus, aşa cum ne-a obişnuit deja, o scenă care pare să ne ofere câteva indicii, cred că o continuare depinde foarte mult de încasări. Luând în calcul declaraţia lui Johnny care a precizat că va interpreta acest personaj atâta timp cât va fi popular şi dorit de public, consider că povestea nu se va opri aici dacă încasările din box office se vor ridica la nivelul aşteptărilor producătorilor Disney.
În străinătate, “Dead Men Tell No Tales” nu a mulţumit criticii, însă, în opinia mea, recenziile acestora sunt prea dure. Filmul are un scenariu coerent, o distribuţie bine aleasă, o coloană sonoră impecabilă, ca întotdeauna, şi, nu în ultimul rând, ne aduce multe surprize, personaje dragi ale fanilor seriei se vor întoarce, însă nu vreau să vă dau amănunte ca să nu vă stric surpriza.
În concluzie, vă invit să nu rataţi noua aventură a celui mai îndrăgit pirat, Jack Sparrow. Fără bani, fără rom şi doar cu o amărâtă de corabie, Pescăruşul Muribund, oare va putea căpitanul nostru preferat să atragă norocul de partea sa?
Distribuit în România de Forum Film/CineForum, “Dead Men Tell No Tales” are premiera azi, 26 mai 2017, şi va putea fi vizionat în format 3D, IMAX 3D, 4DX 3D şi Dolby Atmos.
