Avand o tema care-mi place: arta si fiind un film despre cel de-al Doilea Razboi Mondial, am tinut sa vad aceasta productie, cu toate ca nu stiam la ce sa ma astept. George Clooney nu face parte din actorii mei preferati si nici nu am vazut pana acum vreun film regizat de el.
M-a surprins ritmul destul de lent al actiunii, fiind vorba de un film de razboi.
Chiar daca ei au debarcat pe pamantul Frantei, la o luna dupa Marea debarcare, filmul tot ar fi trebuit sa fie mai dinamic. Era inca razboi, iar Parisul nu fusese eliberat. Calatoria celor 6 prin Franta, Belgia si Germania, pare a fi o calatorie intr-un tinut bantuit de o molima care a secerat majoritatea locuitorilor. Localitatile prin care treceau pareau un soi de Machu Picchu parasite in graba atat de nemtii in retragere cat si de localnici.
Fata de un alt film a carui actiune se petrece tot in timpul retragerii trupelor germane, The Secret of Santa Vittoria a lui Stanley Kramer, in The Monuments Men, cu mici exceptii, nemtii parca s-au evaporat. Ba nu! Unii au plecat cu un tren ale carui vagoane erau burdusite cu opere de arta, cativa au venit sa fure Madona cu pruncul, din catedrala din Bruges si gasind un american pitit dupa un stalp , l-au impuscat, iar altii s-au ascuns in tufisuri ca sa-l omoare pe personajul jucat de Jean Dujardin. Astfel ca cei doi morti din aceast film, au murit stupid, din cauza unor erori. Mai multe focuri de arma se vad in The Expendables, decat in acest film de razboi.
Nicii actorii nu au fost valorificati de loc, Clooney semanand din acest punct de vedere cu Sergiu Nicolaescu. Nu exista film regizat de el in care sa nu aiba partea leului, ca actor.
Niste roluri penibile au avut si Bill Murray sau John Goodman (mult mai avantajat de micile roluri pe care le-a avut in Flight sau Inside Llewyn Davis). Singura care a dovedit ca stie sa joace si altceva a fost Cate Blanchett.
Daca celorlalti le stiam potentialul actoricesc, pe al castigatorului de Oscar Jean Dujardin, nu! Asa ca am fost foarte atenta sa-i vad prestatia, sa ma uimesc de talentul sau. Nu a avut ocazia sa-l demonstreze. Poate la urmatorul film, caci este, conform premiului obtinut, mai bun decat Gabin, Delon, Belmondo sau Depardieu.
Singura scena care m-a durut si m-a indignat, a fost cea in care neamtul da ordin sa se arda toate operele de arta, daca tot au pierdut razboiul. Daca nu sunt ale lor, atunci sa nu fie ale nimanui.
Am remarcat si orgoliul nedisimulat, al americanilor, ajunsi inaintea rusilor, in actiunea de salvare a operelor de arta.
Da! Ideea a fost generoasa, pacat ca nu prea i-a iesit regizorului George Clooney.
