Noi (titlu original Us) este al doilea horror regizat și scris de Jordan Peele, așteptat de fani cu încredere că va fi un film cel puțin la fel de reușit ca premiatul Get Out. Asemeni lui Get Out, Us te lasă pe gânduri, să interpretezi în voie informațiile ambigue pe care le oferă povestea. O familie de culoare (filmele lui Peele se învârt mereu în jurul temei rasismului) încearcă să-și vadă liniștită de concediu la casa lor de vacanță, până când într-o seară în prag se ivește o familie formată din copiile lor fidele. Filmul este despre mai mult decât lupta cu niște clone sinistre, să nu crezi că trailer-ul îți arată tot. Eu am fost plăcut surpris de complexitatea poveștii, fară ca ea să fie alambicată, cum se vede în alte situații recente în care povestea unui horror se complică nenecesar de mult până nu mai are sens. Noi este despre lupta cu sinele dar și despre alte lucruri.
Ce te înfricoșează mai ales poate fi modul realist în care se desfășoară evenimentele. Personajele se comportă ca atare și nimic din ce fac sau ce spun nu te „scot din film”. Prin urmare se poate consemna și că distribuția este una talentată în rolurile duble interpretate.
Lupita Nyong’o, capul de afiș, strălucește. Este credibilă și atunci când este o mamă și soție care trăiește cu o traumă din copilărie, dar și când este copia ei absolut sinistră. O copie care îți dă fiori dar îți stârnește îna celași timp curiozitate despre originile și planurile ei. Lupita a mai apărut în filme ce fac parte din mari francize de milioane de dolari, însă acesta este rolul pentru care o vom ține minte.
Soțul ei, Gabe (Winston Duke) este foarte echilibrat. Când personajul său încearcă să detensioneze atmosfera îi iese natual iar replicile nu sunt puse ca glume prea stridente în momentele cele mai nepotrivite, așa cum se întâmplă în horror-urile mai comerciale. Aici găsim o lecție bună pentru scenariștii și producătorii genului!
Pentru mine este prima oară când o văd pe Elisabeth Moss pe marele ecran după Handmaid’s Tale. Aici dublul rol secundar i se potrivește ca o mănușă și mi-a plăcut. Merită o analiză psihologică.
De fapt, întregul film ar merita să fie dezbătut din perspective psihologice. Pasionații producției de film își vor dori să-l vadă ș a doua oară după ce au aflat povestea la prima vizionare. În scurt timp vor apărea și diversele teorii legate de secretele poveștii. Peele putea alege să-l facă și mai vag, lăsând intenționat o dezvăluire importantă din final ascunsă. Nu spun că m-a deranjat dezvăluirea, care nu spune totul, ci că poate ar fi fost și mai interesantă dacă o ghiceam noi.
Din punct de vedere vizual noua peliculă a lui Peele stă la fel de bine. Imaginea și unghiurile de filmare aduc un pic a filme din anii 80, chiar dacă povestea are loc în mare parte în prezent, cu mici flashback-uri din 1986. Camera pare să aibă un filtru ușor rece, chia și în cadrele însorite, de parcă ceva undeva nu este în regulă și nu știi ce anume te face să simți asta.
Coloana sonoră este incredibilă, atmosferică, misterioasă și dă fiori. De luat aminte că Michael Abels, compozitorul, este la început de carieră, fiind al doilea film pentru care creează, după Get Out.
Abia aștept să-l urmăresc pe Jordan Peele mai departe, sper să continue cu filme horror în cariera sa. Aș fi ce-i drept curios cum ar aborda și alt gen.
Până vedem ce-i poat pielea lui Pet Sematary pe 5 aprilie, Noi este cel mai bun horror la care putem merge în acest început de an.
