Legende din regatul bufnițelor, titlu original Legend of the Guardians: The owls of Ga’Hoole, e o animație lansată în 2010, regizată de Zack Snyder după un scenariu scris de John Orloff și Emil Stern. Scenariul a fost inspirat din celebrele volume ale seriei „Guardians of Ga’Hoole”, scrise de Kathryn Lasky. Deşi animaţia e adresată copiilor, se pot uita şi adulţii datorită realismului şi a tentei întunecate a poveştii. După ce am revăzut Berzele în format 3D, mi s-a făcut poftă să revăd şi această animaţie 3D (cu subtitrare în engleză) pentru că în România s-a lansat doar în format 2D. Efectele 3D sunt cu adevărat UIMITOARE!!
Puiul de cucuvea Soren e visător şi idealist, fiind extrem de încântat de poveştile pe care i le relatează tatăl lui despre războiul mitic dintre cucuvelele diabolice de la Academia St. Aegolius şi cucuvelele paşnice şi înţelepte care trăiesc în Marele Copac de pe insula Ga’Hoole. Oare aceşti gardieni sunt reali sau doar legende? Soren crede în aceştia şi îi povesteşte surorii lui depre lupta Ghearelor de gheaţă. Gardienii erau depășiţi numeric. Dar Lyze of Kiel a lovit cuibul bufniţelor rele. Gardienii au fost victorioşi şi regatul bufniţelor a fost liber încă o dată. Dar unii spun că regele malefic încă trăieşte şi poartă o cască de metal, pentru a-şi ascunde faţa desfigurată.
În vreme ce Soren îşi doreşte să facă parte din grupul de luptători pentru dreptate din Ga’Hoole, fratele lui mai mare, pe nume Kludd, vrea să zboare, să vâneze şi să-i fure mezinului statutul de favorit al tatălui lor. Invidia şi gelozia lui Kludd au drept consecinţă capturarea ambilor pui de către cucuvelele de la St. Aegolius, care pretind că patronează un orfelinat, dar în realitate îi transformă pe cei răpiţi în soldaţi. După ce evadează, Soren şi noii lui prieteni se aventurează în căutarea căminului legendarilor gardieni din marele copac de pe insula Ga’Hoole, aceștia fiind singura speranță a lui Soren de a-i invinge pe cei Puri și de a salva regatul bufnițelor.
Peisajele sunt absolut răvăşitoare. Cel mai mult mi-a plăcut momentul în care bufniţa Soren e prinsă într-un vortex de furtună. Coloana sonoră e superbă! Veţi recunoaşte cu siguranţă melodia „Now we are free” a lui Hans Zimmer. E o călătorie de autocunoaștere în care Soren și prietenii lui doresc să-și unească forțele cu mentorii lor într-o bătălie care se protejeze regatul bufnițelor, deoarece gardienii au jurat să-i apare pe cei slabi și să învingă răul. Dar oare sunt gardienii sunt chiar reali?!
Cu siguranță fiecare copil visează să devină erou sau eroină în povestea sa favorită. De ce? Și eu am fost la fel. Deși filmul e dedicat celor mici, e posibil ca aceștia să se sperie datorită realismului scenelor, animația având o tentă de film noir. Animația abordează teme tradiționale: lupta dintre bine și rău, încrederea în propriile idealuri, ambiția de a deveni ceea ce visezi să fii. Această animaţie mi-a adus aminte de legenda regelui Arthur și a cavalerilor mesei rotunde.
