Și dacă eram bărbat și aș fi trăit în BaSIN CITY, probabil aș fi făcut și eu la fel. Nu știu alții cum sunt, dar eu când o văd pe Eva Green, rămân uimită de cât poate fi de frumoasă: cu părul lung și negru, ochii aceia pătrunzători și vicleni, zâmbetul absolut perfect, corpul voluptuos, Eva a fost alegerea perfectă pentru sequel-ul Sin City: A dame to kill for, în care putem urmări consecințele povestirilor din prima parte și putem reînnoda firul de unde-a rămas, cu o întârziere de vreo 4 ani. Deși majoritatea poveștilor au loc după evenimentele din Sin City, filmul acesta aduce în prim plan o răufăcătoare, o femme fatale care îi sucise mințile lui Dwight în trecut și care acum a reapărut în viața lui, nu se știe încă din ce motive. Ava – ea declanșează o serie de acțiuni nefaste pentru Dwight și the Old Town, reușind totuși să cucerească orice bărbat i se pune-n cale.
Deși pe IMDB e o diferență uriașă între notele celor 2, Sin City fiind în top 250, mie mi-a plăcut foarte mult această continuare, care m-a intrigat și m-a ținut în suspans la fel de mult ca prima. La cârmă fiind aceiași Frank Miller și Robert Rodriguez, nici nu mă așteptam ca atmosfera să fie diferită de cea din prima parte. La fel ca în cazul primului film, mi-au plăcut la nebunie efectele, deja eram obișnuită să văd totul în alb și negru, mai puțin petele de culoare ce apăreau ici colo grație unor buze roșii, unor ochi verzi sau unui păr bălai. Mi-a plăcut că au păstrat aceeași rețetă pentru sânge, când curgea nestăvilit apărea ca în comic books, un râu de non-culoare (deadly little Miho a făcut să curgă destul), iar când era vorba de niște răni făcute la față, se putea vedea șiroind un sânge roșu și hipnotizant.
Dwight McCarthy, jucat în prima parte de Clive Owen, a fost înlocuit în această parte de Josh Brolin, din cauza orarului său încărcat. Mi-a plăcut schimbarea, oricum, veți vedea că Dwight va oferi o surpriză mare spre finalul poveștii sale, nu doar din punct de vedere al aspectului, ci și al hotărârii luate. Mi-ar fi plăcut totuși ca poveștile să fie nițel mai legate una de alta, iar cea a lui Dwight și Ava să fi fost mai lungă. Dar e Sin City, ne-am obișnuit ca personajele să moară sau să trăiască exact atunci când ne-așteptam să nu o facă. Oricum, toate cele 4 povești sunt genial gândite și mi-ar plăcea mult să citesc comic book-urile. Sin City: am ucis pentru ea ne prezintă 4 istorisiri, din 4 puncte de vedere diferite. Deși prima e mai scurtă decât celelalte (cea a lui Marv – Mickey Rourke), are și ea un impact puternic emoțional și ne pune din prima în gardă: s-a stricat treaba de tot în Sin City, ce urmează e de rău.
Povestea lui Dwight și Ava merită ceva mai multă atenție, pentru că aduce ceva nou, e singura acțiune stârnită de ceva ce s-a întâmplat înainte de primul film. Și e singura poveste în care avem un personaj feminin rău pentru că poate și pentru că vrea, cam cum e senatorul Roark. Eva Green face un rol super, chiar i se potrivesc personajele astea cinice, rele, viclene; felul în care manipulează bărbații o face o adversară de temut, e greu să ții pasul cu ea, ceea ce vor afla curând toți cei pe care i-a vrăjit, inclusiv soțul ei, jucat de Marton Csokas. Ironia e că, în viața reală, cei doi actori chiar au avut o relație între 2005 și 2009, care, din fericire pentru el, nu s-a terminat ca cea a personajelor interpretate de cei doi. Frank Miller a cam prins drag de Eva Green, aceasta jucând pentru a doua oară într-un film adaptat după unul din romanele sale grafice (ea a mai jucat și în 300: Rise of an Empire, adaptat după Xerxes).
O altă poveste îl are în centru pe Johnny, interpretat de Joseph Gordon-Levitt, un tânăr jucător de poker care, într-un fel sau altul, nu pierde niciodată. Rolul fusese oferit inițial lui Johnny Depp, care l-a refuzat tot din cauza orarului încărcat. Cred că a fost bine că rolul a ajuns la Gordon-Levitt, care ne oferă o prestație memorabilă și un personaj de care te simți atras și pe care ai vrea totuși să-l vezi că își ia un bobârnac, prea e el infatuat. Decizia sa de a respinge ofertele de a juca în Gardienii Galaxiei și Godzilla a fost una înțeleaptă, zic eu. Chiar sunt foarte intense momentele în care el și senatorul joacă poker și sunt unul împotriva celuilalt și parcă vor să sară unul la gâtul celuilalt ca să se sfâșie.
Ultima poveste o are în centru pe Nancy (Jessica Alba), frumoasa stripper-iță care plânge încă după Hartigan și care vrea să se răzbune tot pe senator. Evoluția ei de-a lungul filmului este superbă, îmi place tare mult cum a fost gândit personajul și cum reușește ea să scape de proprii demoni pentru a-și atinge ținta. Ca să nu mai spun că e la fel de frumoasă, poate chiar și mai frumoasă decât în prima parte. Ea și Eva Green sunt 2 prezențe firave prin aspectul fragil, dar extrem de puternice prin caracter. Ultimul cuvânt rostit în film de Nancy marchează prima situație în cele 2 filme și în cărți când un personaj folosește „cuvântul cu f”. O altă prezență frumoasă este Rosario Dawson, care rămâne totuși în umbră, neavând un rol foarte important. Și Brittany Murphy ar fi avut un rol important în film, dar regizorii au preferat să taie de tot rolul ei, Shellie, decât să o înlocuiască cu o altă actriță, din respect pentru Brittany.
Bugetul filmului a fost de 60 de milioane de dolari, acesta fiind cel mai scump film pe care Robert Rodriguez l-a regizat vreodată.
