David Leitch, actor, cascador, scenarist, producător și regizorul filmelor “Deadpool 2”, “Atomic Blonde”, “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” și “John Wick” revine în atenția publicului cu un nou film de acțiune: “Bullet Train”. “Am acțiunea în ADN, așa că accept cu entuziasm ideea de a-mi asuma provocări mari și de a face alegeri îndrăznețe”, spune Leitch. Și nu doar o spune, ci o și demonstrează din plin în “Trenul asasinilor”, un thriller comic cu Brad Pitt în rolul principal. Înainte de a se lansa ca regizor, Leitch a mai colaborat cu Pitt în calitate de dublură-cascador pentru filmele “Fight Club”, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, “Troy” și altele, așadar aveau deja un istoric comun pe platourile de filmare și își cunoșteau reciproc potențialul.

În plină criză existențială, agentul Ladybug (Gărgăriță, interpretat de Brad Bitt) este ferm convins că îl paște ghinionul la tot pasul. Ce-i drept, din ultimele misiuni cvasi-ratate a ieșit cu orgoliul cam șifonat și vine gata antrenat să mai încaseze niște lovituri. Noroc că se întâlnește în tren cu unii mai ghinioniști decât el. Și… ce să vezi, niciunul dintre ei nu se află întâmplător acolo. Ar trebui să meargă totul ca pe roate, la propriu și la figurat, dar n-are el norocul ăsta! Urmează o confruntare directă și inevitabilă, într-o cursă contra-cronometru, pe viață și pe moarte, în timp ce Sandra Bullock alias Maria îi dă ordine de la distanță.
Pe urmele lui vin Lupul (Benito A Martínez Ocasio alias Bad Bunny), gemenii cei săriți de pe fix, Tangerine și Lemon, care – surpriză! – nu sunt gemeni, malefica Prince (interpretată de Joey King), care doar pare inocentă și inofensivă, dar ucide și din plăcere, nu doar pe bani, Hornet (nici nu bănuiam câtă ferocitate se poate ascunde sub o perucă!), Kimura – pe cât de alcoolic, pe atât de dornic de răzbunare – și… cireașa de pe tort, Moartea Albă (interpretat de Michael Shannon, cu două nominalizări la Oscar). O suită de personaje nebune, unul mai trăsnit și mai șocant decât altul, dar autentici și hilari cât cuprinde. Chiar dacă sunt asasini plătiți, le vedem latura umană, emoțională și chiar empatizam cu ei, ne distrăm și ne îngrozim împreună într-o călătorie thriller de la un capăt la altul: „Bullet Train” / „Trenul asasinilor” – din 5 august 2022, doar la cinema.
Fiecare vagon are un specific și ne surprinde cu ceva. În timp ce trenul gonește cu peste 400 km / oră, vedem peisajul pe ferestre (reprezentate de pereți cu tehnologie LED de înaltă rezoluție). Astfel, călătoria nebună este și o ocazie să descoperim o versiune stilizată a Japoniei contemporane, cu mascote inspirate de personajele anime Momomon – o imagine excentrică, dar autentică și fidelă culturii nipone.
Scenariul lui Zak Olkewicz se bazează pe romanul lui Kotaro Isaka, unul dintre cei mai apreciați autori japonezi ai genului mystery. Pornind de la creația acestuia, producătorii filmului au realizat o incursiune palpitantă și comică în lumea asasinilor, cu nuanțele unei fabule moderne despre soartă. Dar cum creezi scenele când totul se întâmplă într-un tren de mare viteză? Cum se desfășoară întreaga acțiune în doar câteva vagoane ticsite cu asasini, unde orice obiect aparent inofensiv poate deveni o armă? Provocările de spațiu devin oportunități creative, prin efecte speciale, cascadorii și o coregrafie spectaculoasă a luptelor – toate, într-un spațiu îngust, într-un tren în mișcare. O provocare și pentru actori, dat fiind că mulți și-au realizat singuri scenele de luptă, fără dubluri, începând cu însuși Brad Pitt.
