Așteptarea a meritat deoarece filmul este extraordinar din toate punctele de vedere, reușind să aducă pe marile ecrane energia electrizantă și prezența scenică a Regelui Rock ‘n’ Roll-ului. Austin Butler nu îl interpretează pe Elvis Presley, ci devine Elvis Presley, fiind realmente fabulos.
Filmul începe cu un Parker în vârstă și obez (Hanks) aflat în spital.
