Mizerabilii (Les Misérables) e un muzical lansat în 20012 sub regia lui Tom Hooper dup[ un scenariu scris de William Nicholson, Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg și Herbert Kretzmeris. Scenariul e bazat pe muzicalul cu același nume scris de Alain Boublil și Claude-Michel Schönberg, care la rândul său s-a bazat pe romanul cu același nume scris de Victor Hugo. La un muzical e important să-ți placă genul de muzică care se cântă. Mă uit la Vocea României, dar când melodia nu îmi place, schimb canalul. Dar cum am urmărit toate edițiile, am înțeles și sfaturile antrenorilor: „interacţionează cu publicul”, „nu cânta doar pentru tine”, „cântă mai cu emoţie”, „lipsesc sentimentele” ș.a.m.d. Fără să fie cântăreţi desăvârşiţi, actorii reuşesc să aducă expresivitate interpretărilor lor vocale. Ne vor face să trăim și să suferim alături de ei. Eu încă sper să se lanseze la noi și versiunea din 1998 care i-a avut în rolurile principale pe Liam Neeson, Claire Danes și Geoffrey Rush.
E secolul al XIX-lea, anul 185. După 26 de ani de la începutul revoluției franceze, un rege e din nou pe tronul Franței. După 19 ani de detenție (5 ani pentru că a furat o pâine și alți 14 ani pentru că a încercat să evadeze de mai multe ori) prizonierul 24601, Jean Valjean, e eliberat condiționat. Deși fură argint dintr-o mănăstire, preotul îi ia apărarea și Valjean redevine un om cinstit. Acțiunea se mută 8 ani mai târziu, unde e primar în localitatea Montreuil. Dar polițistul Javert e repartizat ca șef al poliției în Montreuil. Javert bănuiește că primarul orașului e de fapt Jean Valjean, după ce aceasta salvează viața unui localnic ridicând singur o căruță. Astfel începe povestea lui Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), puşcăriaşul veşnic vânat de nemilosul poliţist Javert (Russell Crowe). Când Valjean va accepta să aibă grijă de Cosette (Amanda Seyfried), fiica lui Fantine (Anne Hathaway), vieţile lor se vor schimba pentru totdeauna, pentru că atât Valjean, cât și Cosette, vor cunoaște ce înseamnă dragostea.
Partitura muzicală are cuvinte simple, emoționante, care vă vor da fiori pe șira spinării. Din cele 51 de melodii, cel mai mult mi-au rămas în minte: Suddenly, Do you hear the people sing?, I dreamed a dream, One more day, A Little Fall of Rain, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, A heart full of love (cântat de studentul Marius și Cosette) și The second attack (cântat de Gavroche, Enjolras, Marius, Valjean, Feuilly). Melodiile au fost înregistrate direct pe platourile de filmare și nu au fost dublate de interpretări în studiou, astfel transmițându-se mai bine autenticitatea trăirilor. Fiecare actor interpretează și trăiește fiecare scenă direct în fața camerei, emoțiile ajungând direct în inimile voastre.
E imposibil să nu-i remarci pe Eddie Remayne în rolul studentului Marius, pe juniorul Daniel Huttlestone în rolul lui Gavroche și pe Samantha Barks care îi dă viață lui Eponine, fiica cuplului de hangii care au grijă de Cosette. Cei doi hangii sunt jucați de Helena Bonham Carter şi Sacha Baron Cohen, iar costumele în care aceștia sunt îmbrăcați sunt ieșite de context, atrăgând atenția asupra acestei perechi caricaturale.
